July 20th to July 27th:

Articles Written: 228
Article Views: 48,132
Earnings in July $512.41

Last week I made $183.15.  This week I only made $144.74.  I guess I shouldn’t really say “only” made $144.74 because that is still good money.  I am now making enough on eHow to pay for ALL my monthly bills!   Time to get down to business here.  It bothered me to see that I made less than I did the previous week.  Especially since I kept writing more articles.  However, I have a theory on this conundrum.

We all know that we make our money from people clicking on the ads that are displayed on the article.  I believe that I made less earnings because it is nearing the end of the month.  Why does that matter you ask?  Because companies have an ad budget set for every month on Google Adwords.  Once they hit their budget, their ads turn off.  So your article that might have been full of relevant ads that made people click on them are not filled with filler ads.  Don’t fret.  Once the next month starts, the ads will re-appear and you will see an increase in your earnings.

  • Dude, you’re doing excellent!. As you probably know, I haven’t been doing much as far as eHow article writing, but I still consistently earn $150+ a month.

Glad to see you’re doing much better than I am. I have to step it up! Too many projects going on for me right now though…hmm…that gives me an idea.

    Congrats!

Thanks man! Thats great that you still earn 150+ without hardly doing anything with eHow. I’m still blown away by your other avenues of income. Best of luck in all of your adventures! Maybe we can share some tips with each other. Let me know!

  • I agree w/Pat – your earnings are incredible! Have you ever thought about starting a new income stream other than eHow?

I have also noticed that my earnings on eHow tend to drop off the last few days of the month.

Thanks! I have thought about it but i’m not sure if I can repeat the same success that I have produced on eHow. What avenues do you suggest that I pursue? I’ve thought about niche websites to sell affiliate products.

  • I have started writing posts on HubPages (just started last Friday actually). I have also used Squidoo some as well to try and diversify income streams.

I think eHow is great but just don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket.

I have planned on writing for these as well. However, I have been so focused on eHow that it is getting all of my attention. I agree with you that you shouldn’t put all of your eggs into one basket. Diversify, Diversify, Diversify! Keep me updated on your earnings from those two.
